Episodes from the Warsaw Uprising as heard in broadcasts of Insurrectionary Radio „Błyskawica”, illustrated by historic and modern photographs of Warsaw. Professor Tomasz Strzembosz talks about the specifics of the insurgent struggle, about the structure of the station transmitter itself, which was constantly moved to various buildings in Śródmieście during the uprising.
The film is an attempt to show what „Błyskawica” was to the soldiers of the Home Army (AK) and the inhabitants of Warsaw, and it tells about the topics that were discussed on air – the general situation in the city, problems with weapons, food and water, the insurrectionary post office, the explosion of a booby trapped tank, the work of spontaneously organized hospitals, teenage liaison officers and underground sewage guides, how an entire unit that had surrendered was executed by the Germans.
