07.09.2010 The Oscar Commission appointed by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage Bogdan Zdrojewski decided that the Polish candidate for an Oscar award in the category of Best non-English film will be „Everything I Love” directed by Jacek Borcuch.
„All that I love” seems to us to be the most complete from among all the films under consideration”, the commission members say, „it is full of warmth and energy, and it is an interesting attempt to face our complicated recent past, which is so difficult to show on the screen. The film has been received very well by the audience, it has been screened in the USA, where the responses were also very positive. This gives us a warranty that if the Polish movie fails to get a nomination once again, it will still be received with sympathy and interest and it will duly represent our cinematography.
The list of 9 movies that will compete for the Oscar in the category of the Best non-English film will be announced in late January of 2011. About a week later, we will find out which movies will be among the 5 finalist nominees for the prize.
The Academy Awards ceremony will be held on February 27th, 2011.
